A TORNADO

A tornado is a funnel-shaped column of powerful and destructive air tornado is from a Latin word tonare which means to thunder.

Tornado form out of the button of two cumulonimbus cloud, where cold dry air met warm moist air they are always associated with extreme thunder storm.

scientists are not really sure of how tornado form but do think they usually being when an up draft of warm moist air raise rapidly through cold dry
air near the top of a cloud.

as this happens more warm air rushes in to replace it and cold air is forced downwards, the interaction of warm and cold air cause the up draft to rotate forming a vacuum cleaner like funnel which suck up air and object into it.
Tornados are made invisible by dust it sucks as well as condensed water droplet in the center of the cloud.

They   rotate primarily anti clock wise in the northern hemisphere

and clock wise in the southern hemisphere.

Size can vary from a few meters to about a kilometer wide where the funnel touches the ground the average width is a few 100 meters,

they travel over distance ranging from short hops to many kilometers. They also produce the most powerful winds on earth reaching speed of up to 800kmp.

A tornado dies when the cold down draft rapes around it weakening and eliminate the up draft.
