ALL ABOUT THE SUN

The sun is star at the centre of the earth solar system, a hot ball of glowing gases ,the sun extends far beyond the orbits of distant Neptune.

 It’s also generates a magnetic field via a dynamo process and the most important source of energy of life on earth, though our sun is special to us there are billions of star like our sun scattered across the Milky Way galaxy.

The sun is made up of two main gases hydrogen and helium.

It is about 109 times the diameter of the earth and makes up 99.86 the total mass of the solar system.

Astronomers believe that sun is about 4.6 billion years old and will keep shining for about another 7 billion years. It has a mass of 1.989×10^27(1989000000000000000000000000),the temperature of outer visible part of the sun is 5500°c(9900°f), the distance of the sun from the earth is 150 million km(93 million mi).

Advantages of the sun

1.     The sun is use by green plants to produce food.

2.     The energy from the sun helps to keep the earth warm.

3.     Energy from the sun also creates wind in earth's atmosphere.

4.     The sun is also a source of light of earth.

5.     The sun provides energy that can be converted into electrical energy by the use of photovoltaic cells.

Disadvantages of the sun

1.     Radiations from the sun can cases skin cancer.

2.     The sun can damage the eyes when a person looks directly at the sun for too long or during a solar eclipse.

3.     Particles emitted from the sun disrupt earth magnetic field.

4.     Heat from the sun can make the environment very hot some times.
