EAGLE BIRD



Eagle is the common name for many large birds of prey that are active during the daytime, of the family acciptridae.
There are over 60 species of eagles in the world, with about 76.6% find in Europe, Asia and African, 23.3% are find in North America, central and South America and Australia.
Most eagles are larger than any other raptors apart from some vultures.

CHARACTERISTICS OF EAGLE
Eagles are known for their powerful
legs, strong feet with sharp talons (claws) and a hook like bill that is almost as long as it head, they also have extremely power eyes, large broad wings and a broad tail that spreads out in flight.

SPECIAL FEATURES 

Large broad wings: enable they to soar freely through the air in order to conserve energy during flight, they flap their wings as little as possible. They can reach speeds up to 160kph (100 mph) but this speed is mostly used when diving for prey.

Keen eye sight: eagle can see from a very far distance, their sight is the most powerful of all their senses.
The eyes are large and take up almost 48.8% of the head. an eagle can see 4-5 times better than human, this is  due to the fact they can see five basic colors human can only see 3, they also have one million cones per square millimeter, human have 200,000.

Strong feet and talons (claws): are used to kill, capture prey and squeeze the life from the captured prey.

Hook like bill: are used to rip out flesh from its prey.
